While sitting with your child in a comfortable place, say to him the following:
I'd like you to make up a story about this little boy and what goes on in his day. There are no right or wrong answers, it's totally up to you. Let's start with this first picture. Show your child picture 1. Tell me what's going on here? What's the little boy doing? What's he thinking? What's he feeling? And what's going to happen next in this picture? Let your child make up a story which includes all of these elements - what the little boy is doing, thinking, feeling, and what is going to happen next - and then show him picture 2. Now, let's look at the next picture. What's going on here? Again, what's the little boy doing? What's he thinking? What's he feeling? And what's going to happen next in the picture? After your child creates a story to this picture, show him each of the other pictures, asking him these same questions. For picture 7, after your child makes up a story which includes the above components ask her What's the little boy going to dream about? What's going to happen the next day?
That's all there is to it! Remember, try not to influence what your child says in any way. Just stick to the above questions and, most importantly, allow your child's imagination to run free without any judgment or disapproval by you of anything he might say. Be supportive, encouraging, and make it a fun, sharing experience for both of you!
